We have two youth groups that meet on Sunday nights – 7th & 8th graders (“Youth Group”) and 9th – 12th (“PY”) both meet from 6:00 – 7:00 at the church. Youth Group meets in the Lower Lounge – PY is in the Upper Room. All are welcome!!
Keith Kennedy, Rick Spielman, Robert Johnson, and Cate Carpenter, and Jodie Mathews are the adults that hang out with the kids each Sunday night. Youth ministry wouldn’t exist without our parents and our congregation – they are so active, supportive and encouraging and WE LOVE THEM!!!
Our program on Sunday nights is a great place for kids to hang out, make new friends, and grow in their personal relationship with God as we all seek to understand His will for our lives. Youth Ministry at FPC is an exciting place to serve as God continually works in and through His children. Besides our Sunday night program, we have opportunities for retreats, conferences, camps and other fun ‘day’ events, like Heise Hot Springs, ski trips, scavenger hunts, etc. Christ taught us to be servants, so that is an important part of our ministry. We bake pies for the community Thanksgiving dinner, collect food for the food bank, volunteer at the City of Refuge, serve at the community Progressive Dinner, visit our shut ins, help with the Christmas baskets, etc. On the last Sunday of the month both groups have the opportunity to participate in what we cal SALSA (Service And Love on Sunday Afternoon), then that evening we have a movie night!
